Why buy samples?

Because blind-buying perfumes can get expensive!

Sampling lets you explore different fragrances at your own pace and figure out what you actually enjoy wearing. Perfume also changes over time on the skin, so the first spray isn’t always the full story. A scent can end up smelling completely different after it settles and develops.

What are samples (decants)?

A decant is a smaller portion of a fragrance that has been carefully transferred from its original bottle into a separate, travel-friendly container.

What are official samples?

Official samples are fragrance samples produced and packaged by the fragrance brand itself. They are typically provided in the brand’s original sample vial or packaging and contain the authentic fragrance directly from the manufacturer or an authorized source.

Official samples are different from decants, which are portions of fragrance transferred from a full-size bottle into a separate sample vial. When a listing is identified as an official sample, you can be confident that the sample packaging originates from the brand.

Are the decanted samples in spray bottles or dabbers?

All of our fragrance samples are provided in spray atomizer bottles, allowing you to easily apply the perfume just as you would from a full-sized bottle. Spray samples provide a more accurate fragrance experience than dabber-style samples.

How are the decanted samples prepared?

We carefully transfer the fragrance from the full-sized bottle into a convenient travel-friendly bottle. At Noseworthy, every decant is:

• Hand-decanted using pipettes or syringes to extract the fragrance directly from the original bottle to ensure the highest quality.

• Labeled so you’ll always know exactly what you’re receiving.

• Provided in premium bottles (5ml with a pressurized atomizer), ensuring you get a luxury experience.

Why isn't my sample filled right to the top?

Perfume expands and contracts with temperature and air pressure changes, so leaving a small headspace helps reduce the chance of leaks during transit, especially in metal atomizer decants. Spray mechanisms also require a bit of air space to pressurize properly.

Decants are measured by the millilitres transferred, not by being filled completely to the top. Most sample bottles are designed with some headspace, so a small air gap is normal.

That said, I do occasionally overfill samples (oops), so don’t be surprised if some appear slightly more filled than others.

Are the fragrances authentic?

Yes! We are proud to be an official retailer for all the brands we carry.

Will I get the manufacturer's bottle?

No, our samples do not include the original manufacturer’s bottle. You’ll receive the authentic fragrance, carefully measured and transferred into a sample bottle for easy enjoyment.
